Charles Sturt University in conjunction with Ambulance Service Institute (HK Branch) develops the Master of Emergency Management degree program for members of Ambulance Service Institute (Hong Kong Branch).

Program Structure and Contents

The program consists of two stages undertaken over two years of part-time study: A total of 4 modules are studied over four semesters (2 years):

EMG 505 Readings in Emergency Management
EMG 506 Independent Study in Emergency Management
EMG 507 Readings in Risk Management
EMG 508 Independent Study in Risk Management

Entry Requirements:

Applicants who wish to be considered for admission to the course will have to satisfy the following criteria, which will be considered to the equivalent of a four-year degree:

  • A first degree with at least 5 years experience in an industry related to the field study; or
  • Senior Ambulance Officer and the above ranks without undergraduate degree should possesses 10 years experience in an industry related to the field of study.

Assessment:

Master Emergency Management Degree Graduation required 64 points of study (4 core subjects, no electives). Students must satisfactorily complete four approved major projects, under the guidance of a suitably qualified and experienced mentor.

Teaching Mode:

This is a distance-learning program. The regular modules are taught online. Tutorial support is available through Charles Sturt University's Website.
